Overcoming adversity

All misfortune is but a stepping stone to fortune.
Henry David Thoreau

For most of this year I have had a great burden overshadowing my life.  It has been a great stumbling block and has made focus on progress and moving forward rather difficult.

I am pleased to say that now this problem has been rectified and I feel like a massive weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

Adversity is the mother of progress.
Mahatma Gandhi

I would not have said that I would have agreed with Gandhi’s quote.  I have made baby steps of progress this year.

In essence I think I have proved that I am stronger than I thought I was.

At the same time though, I am pleased that this hurdle has finally been knocked down.

The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man be perfected without trials.
Danish Proverb

Cathy! How good it must feel to know you’re on your way out of the tunnel. Whatever else you know you’ll feel stronger and ARE stronger for the ordeal. And we sometimes have to suffer hard times and problems to understand the good things in our lives and what it is that’s truly important to us. I know from your writings that you are in tune to all that better than many of us. I am feeling happy for you this evening. jx

I’m really happy that things are lightening for you. :-) Yes, I’ve overcome some obstacles recently too.
