I must say I am extremely proud of my children and their efforts over two half days and one full day of standing out the front of the house and selling their home-made lemonade. My son had the idea on Thursday afternoon and set off by heading to the shops with an advance from my husband to buy some lemons. A friend of my son’s also got involved. They did well on that first afternoon as it was rather warm outside and there were a few takers (not just family indoors). They even made a profit. On Friday they spent the whole day out there and had an idea late on to try something slightly different this morning. They spent some time creating lime ice cubes. After manning their stall this morning they decided to give it away. They gave themselves each a small amount and then went into town and gave their hard earned money to one of the cancer charity shops. That is one of the reasons why I’m so pleased with them.
