First anniversary

Today marks one year since I started this blog, Wandering Sheila.

I started this blog to mark a new chapter in our lives as my husband, children and I moved from Italy to England.

We left a country setting in Italy for a town in England.

We swapped bar/ coffee culture for pub grub.

We’ve had an interesting 12 months with lots of adventures along the way and no doubt lots more are in store for us.

There are moments when I miss my home country but I can honestly say I am really happy where I am at the moment.

I hope you hang around for more adventures on Wandering Sheila.

Hello from this wandering Scot now Sydneysider. It’s so wet here in Sydney today and it has been all week. Ah for a sunny day in England, or even, if stretching my luck, in Scotland! I lived in Italy too for a year when I was 18, in Genova… Australia is pretty similar to Italy in many ways, don’t you reckon?

Hello Seana. Thank you for taking the time to comment on this post. I hope you are loving living in Sydney, although the weather isn’t that great. I’m curious to know what aspects of Italy you think are similar to Australia?

Hi Cathy, it’s the weather, the colours and the fresh food, I think. No beautiful old buildings here though ! Or maybe it’s the way I feel when here or there: first struck me on a trip to Sicily.
